How this check works — honestly

We ask one AI engine a fixed set of buyer questions for your category, once, and record what it answers: whether your brand is named, in what position, which brands are named instead, and which websites the engine cited as sources.

AI answers are not stable. Published measurement finds that same-day identical prompts share only about 40% of their sources, so any single check — ours included — is a sample, not a census. That's why OnTheList tracking samples repeatedly over time, and why the durable signal is the fix list: the sources AI cites and the facts it uses. Anyone who shows you one precise score with no answers attached is overselling.
